HPA collaborated with students on work done as part of the UP Heritage Project) that resulted in excellent outcomes: UP (Dept Architecture & Dept Civil Engineering) was awarded the QUANSER GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARD 2023; Prof Johann vd Merwe (Dept Civil Engineering) will travel to Mexico to accept the award on 25 Oct 2023.
The competition entry (attached) addressed the issue of Circularity in Design and Engineering. The case study buildings identified were Soil Science Greenhouse 1 & 2 on the IA@UP Campus - which form part of the 2023 UP Heritage Project.
The exploded diagrams for both greenhouses were created in-house at HPA by Jaryd van Staden and was submitted on the UP Portal upon project completion of the 2023 Heritage Project.
